Terms of Service.
1 · Service overview
TrustRecord is the verified operational record registry for service businesses, operated by TrueSignal, Inc. (“TrueSignal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). The registry is published at trustrecord.com. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
TrueSignal connects to your existing business systems via read-only OAuth integrations, computes verified operating metrics, and publishes them as a structured, machine-readable TrustRecord at trustrecord.com and on your own domain.
2 · Data access
TrueSignal accesses your business data through read-only OAuth connections to accounting and operational platforms (such as QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, Jobber, and other supported systems). These connections are strictly read-only. TrueSignal cannot write to, modify, or delete any data in your source systems.
You may disconnect any connected data source at any time through your account settings or by revoking OAuth access directly through the source platform.
3 · Data ownership
You retain full ownership of all data in your connected systems. By connecting your systems and using TrueSignal, you grant TrueSignal a non-exclusive, worldwide license to access, process, normalize, compute metrics from, and publish your operational data in the form of a TrustRecord.
This license enables TrueSignal to ingest raw data, apply standardized calculation rules, and publish the resulting verified metrics in human-readable and machine-readable formats, including JSON, JSON-LD, and HTML.
4 · TrustRecords
Published TrustRecords are publicly accessible by design. Verified metrics are computed independently by TrueSignal from authenticated data sources. Published values cannot be edited, overridden, or modified by the business.
Records conform to the published standard for their vertical. Verified claims defined by the standard are published in full; a business may not selectively exclude individual verified claims. Optional and attested fields may be included or omitted at the business’s election, and are always labeled by provenance.
TrueSignal is not responsible for inaccuracies, errors, or omissions originating in third-party source systems. Metrics are only as accurate as the underlying data provided by the connected platforms.
5 · Use of published records
Published TrustRecords are public information. Records and individual claims may be quoted, cited, and reproduced by people, publications, and automated systems, including AI systems, provided that: (i) TrustRecord is identified as the source; (ii) provenance labels are preserved — an attested claim may not be presented as verified; and (iii) claims are not altered or presented outside their stated time windows.
Bulk republication of the registry, republication that misrepresents record contents, and use of registry data to create derivative rankings presented as TrustRecord’s own are prohibited.
6 · No guarantee of AI citation
Publication of a TrustRecord does not guarantee citation, recommendation, ranking, or inclusion by any AI platform, large language model, search engine, or other system. TrustRecords are structured to increase the likelihood that AI systems can accurately evaluate, compare, and cite a business. How third-party systems index, interpret, and surface data is outside TrueSignal’s control.
7 · Subscription and billing
Access to a verified TrustRecord requires an annual subscription. Subscriptions are billed in advance on an annual basis and auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. All fees are non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
8 · Personally identifiable information
TrueSignal is not designed to process personally identifiable information (PII). Our integrations extract aggregated operational data — job counts, service categories, customer retention rates, geographic distribution — not individual customer records. Any PII incidentally ingested during data extraction is excluded from published records and handled in accordance with applicable law.
9 · Security
TrueSignal employs industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
- Read-only API connections to all source systems
- Role-based access controls with least-privilege permissions
- Continuous monitoring and logging of all data access
10 · Intellectual property
TrueSignal owns all rights, title, and interest in and to the TrustRecord platform, including all software, schemas, data models, normalization methodologies, calculation rules, and the TrustRecord format itself. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to TrueSignal’s intellectual property beyond the limited license to use the service as described herein and the citation rights described in Section 5.
11 · Limitation of liability
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Records are operational data, not endorsements; TrueSignal makes no warranty as to the quality, fitness, or outcomes of any business listed in the registry.
In no event shall TrueSignal be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.
TrueSignal’s total aggregate liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to TrueSignal during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12 · Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
13 · Changes to these terms
TrueSignal reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the service. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
